The Villa Vingt is situated on a sloping site adjacent to the Le Relais ski resort. The elevated terrain offers stunning views of the Laurentian Hills and the residential neighborhood of Lac-Beauport.

The project is situated on the existing footprint of the clients’ previous home’s foundations to retain certain acquired rights. The clients are well-acquainted with the site and its attributes, having lived there for several years. The design emerges from the site and its pronounced topography.

Level 1 acts as a base, anchoring itself to the terrain while opening completely to the north. The upper floor appears to float above the concrete ground floor. The living areas project out, creating cantilevered views.

The white cedar extends beneath the roofs to enhance the continuity between the interior and exterior. The volumetric and material play emphasizes the entrance. ↓

The central concrete wall provides verticality to the project. Its raw treatment reveals the impressions of the formwork. The staircase gains its richness from the contrast between the authentic materials surrounding it: concrete and steel. ↓
