The Prémont Harley-Davidson store is located in Quebec. The complex covers nearly 8,000 square meters and houses a large showroom, a museum with various collections, and a spacious repair workshop.

The architectural approach is to create an iconic building—a landmark in the landscape. The building culminates at the southern end of the site with a truncated tower that dematerializes at the top to make way for the Prémont “lantern,” which is now visible in the evening like a beacon, serving as a point of reference visible from the highway and surrounding areas.

The program also includes a themed restaurant and administrative offices. The building’s form is simple and dynamic, inspired by the Harley-Davidson brand to convey an image of elegance, fluidity, as well as freedom and independence, reflecting a desire to break away from conventions. The architecture aims to embody the spirit conveyed by the company.

At the highway level, the mesh adds movement to the facade through the moiré effect created when passing by quickly. ↓

One of the building's striking features is its double skin of black aluminum, which acts like a theatrical curtain by creating a dramatic outline of the main volume during the day and shimmering with its absence at night. The metal skin is arranged to gradually reveal the interior. ↓

During the day, the metal mesh creates an impression of opacity and casts dynamic shadows. At night, the skin filters the light from within, transforming the building into a massive lantern. ↓

For pedestrians, the layers forming the envelope create an effect of depth, opacity, and light. ↓

The building unfolds into a band that loops back on itself, forming a "U" shape. It turns its back on the highway to create a sheltered courtyard on the opposite side. ↓

This space, by creating a microclimate, adds a more human scale to the surroundings of the building and provides protection from noise, wind, and pollution. ↓
