Maison de
l'Anse-à-la-Cabane
The project is located at Anse-à-la-Cabane in the Îles-de-la-Madeleine, on a hill facing the sea. The clients wish to make their home more functional, particularly by adding a more accessible space on the ground floor to set up their bedroom.
At the same time, the expansion allows for the creation of a larger entryway and encloses the courtyard to the north, creating a peaceful area sheltered from the elements.
The expansion is designed with a flat roof and is clad in horizontal wood siding, subtly contrasting with the original traditional cedar shingle house. This project showcases a fine sensitivity in an intervention that balances tradition and modernity.
