Mairie des
Îles-de-la-Madeleine
The mandate from the Municipality of the Îles-de-la-Madeleine is to expand and fully renovate the Town Hall.
It is an existing building from the 1990s that requires some updates and is constrained in size relative to the number of employees. The programming is complex. Some municipal services are being relocated to the Town Hall building, requiring space for approximately 60 employees to coexist. Several offices need to be configured, while also considering that part of the existing community hall and the attic space can be utilized.
At the conceptual level, the goal is to make the organization and circulation between different areas as clear as possible and to create airy, light-filled spaces. A new separate entrance is created for access to the community hall, and a staff room is added in an extension of the roof facing the sea.
