Le KOZI
In the urban landscape of Quebec City, the KOZI project proposes the restoration of a building, formerly institutional, into a residential building.
Located along Chemin Sainte-Foy, the new building had to be in symbiosis with the urban landscape in which it is located.

Spread over eight floors, the building now offers seventy rental housing units, accompanied by underground parking. Through careful renovation, the concrete structure of yesteryear has been preserved, serving as a solid foundation for the new architectural development. The same goes for the stairwells which were preserved and integrated into the project program.

The selection of black cladding on the ground floor helps define the foundation of the building. On this monochrome frame, the entrance is marked by a wooden-looking covering, borrowed from the upper floors. This transition of shades creates a visual separation, guiding the eye towards the entrance; while evoking an aesthetic continuity between the different levels of the structure. ↓
