Résidence
Dune de l'Ouest
This secondary residence is located in the Îles-de-la-Madeleine, facing the Dune de l’Ouest and the sea. It is a derivative of a formal exploration developed using a sand model. The volume is simple and draws inspiration from the traditional architecture of the Îles.
The shape appears to be sculpted from a monolith of sand. The side walls extend to the edge of the terrace, creating a peaceful space sheltered from the winds. The residence is covered with cedar shingles in a sand color. The recessed areas are clad in wooden boards stained with a semi-transparent warm brown. Each window frames a different landscape, with no neighbors in sight.

- Clients : A retired couple from northern Montreal. They have been in love with the Islands for about twenty years and want a second home to spend 4 months each year. They enjoy wide open spaces, the sea, geology, and wild berries.
